Caño Cristales is located in the Colombian national park of La Macarena and is regarded as one of the most beautiful rivers in the world due to its more than seven colorful shades. This colorful Liquid Rainbow is one natural landmark that should be on every traveler’s itinerary. The 62-mile (100-kilometer) stretch of river has beautiful waterfalls and natural pools. This rainbow of colors is created by different plants, algae, sand, and rocks in the river, and you can swim in many areas. In addition to Caño Cristales, la Macarena park is also home to incredible rock formations, beautiful savannahs, wild jungles, and birdwatching.
